Adjunct researchers
Boris Dewitte
Physical oceanographer interested in understanding the relationship between climatic and oceanographic variability, especially associated with El Niño Southern Oscillation phenomenon and the oxygen minimum zones along the Eastern Pacific. His research is carried out with interdisciplinary groups from the atmospheric sciences as well as biology.
Marcelo Rivadeneira
Paleobiologist who has oriented his research to the area of Biogeography, Historical Ecology and marine conservation, focusing on the fossil record of marine invertebrates and vertebrates. His studies seek to understand the role of historical and evolutionary processes at different aspects of marine ecosystems biodiversity.
César Méndez
Archaeologist and resident researcher at CIEP, Patagonia Ecosystem Research Center. His research is focused on the study of human settlement in South America and the human-environment interaction in semi-arid regions of central Chile and Patagonia. Through interdisciplinary approaches, he studies the dynamics of adaptation of hunter-gatherer groups in the Chilean territory.
Chris Harrod
Ecologist specialized in the application of analytical techniques such as stable isotopes to study marine ecosystems. His research covers the area of ecology, evolution and conservation biology of fish, and other taxa in different places along salinity gradients.
